Etna excursion

(off-road vehicle & trekking)

Departing from Linguaglossa aboard an off-road vehicle towards Etna. There will be 4×4 trips and off-road routes with short walks, to appreciate places of great naturalistic and volcanological interest within the Etna Park. Starting from the lava flows that threatened entire surrounding villages, you will visit the summit of the craters on the East side where the last major eruption occurred. You will also experience the emotion of descending inside the volcano by visiting a lava flow cave to know how the phenomenon is related to the flow of lava. 

Horseback riding

You can choose between different nature trails to ride. You can cross the river Alcantara, the woods of Etna and the paths of Nebrodi and Peloritani. The excursions are for everyone and take place with qualified equestrian guides.

Excursion on donkeys

This experience is recommended for those who want to relax immersed in a natural environment and pristine. You will ride on a donkey in a grove located between vineyards and chestnut groves of the Etna territory. The excursion is also suitable for
families with children.

Quad tour

Quad tours vary in length according to the chosen route.

• In the path from 1h or 2h 30min you start from the Alcantara Gorges in the direction of Francavilla di Sicilia. It takes place for 80% in off-road mode along some paths of the beautiful Alcantara Valley.
• In the excursion lasting about 3h 30min you can visit the towns of Francavilla di Sicilia, Castiglione di Sicilia with its castles and the Great Mountain of Motta Camastra.
• The half-day tour starts from the Alcantara Gorges in the direction of Castiglione di Sicilia, a renowned wine town. The route continues towards Linguaglossa through numerous lava flows until you reach Piano Provenzana. For those who love nature tours, it will be possible to request a visit to the craters formed by the 2002 eruption that destroyed the tourist station of Piano Provenzana.

Body rafting Alcantara

The adrenaline-pumping 2-hour body rafting excursion between the Alcantara Gorges, accompanied by canyoning instructors is suitable for the more adventurous who are willing to be carried by the rapids between the lava basalts. The excursion is offered
with pick-up service directly from our hotel or with a meeting-point to be agreed. Possibility to vary the route for different needs, specific requests or to satisfy any curiosity.

Visit to the oil tasting farm

Etna oil is another important reality of which we are proud. While visiting this farm it will be possible to taste the oil during a light lunch or a lunch in the farm with the products of the garden. Depending on the period, you can watch the olive harvest and
oil production (from mid-October).

Boat trip

Starting from the historic port of Riposto, you will discover the beautiful Taormina (Isola Bella, Capo Mazzarò, Atlantis Bay). You will have the opportunity to swim in the sea and have a packed lunch directly on the boat. The duration of the excursion is about 8 hours. Since the boat is for exclusive use, it is advisable to book in advance.

Visit to the winery with tasting

The visit to the winery is perfect both for wine lovers who know the reality of Etna’s wine, and for those who want to approach for the first time a gastronomic experience of our territory. You will visit the vineyard and taste the wines paired with cold cuts and cheeses.

Cooking Classes

Cooking classes with the chefs of Etna Quota Mille. The preparation of typical traditional dishes with our chefs: an appetizer, a first course, a second course and a dessert. For dinner you can taste the dishes made by you.
